Its been two years since 2020 outbreak of Covid-19 that impacted everyone especially in the hospitality industry. Moving forward in 2022, despite the latest outbreak of Omicron, we decided to create our yearly Chinese New Year celebration event as we missed thanking our loyal customers and business partners for making Emperors of China and Dim Sum Emperors a household name in Cambodia especially to our fans in Phnom Penh, following all safety measures to ensure our guests has a memorable time celebrating this year Chinese New Year.
Denise Lum, COO of Wong and Meas Restaurant Co., Ltd in her speech, reminded us of all the blessings we have all and, all the blessings we have been to one another in the past especially to our supportive bosses, who flew in from France after 2 years apart due to the earlier stages of the pandemic. It's an honor to be part of this family business, ending her speech. To begin the celebrations, Denise also explain behind the tradition of Lo hei, which she always has held back home in Singapore with her family to ring in the new year and bring blessings upon all who celebrate it! Every year since Denise joined, Lo hei is a must celebration (in Cantonese for "tossing up") which
refers to the communal tossing of yusheng, a dish comprising fish slice, vegetables, crushed peanuts, pomelo, cinnamon, pepper, golden pillow crackers to name a few and is accompanied by a variety of condiments.
